Model Description

“Propylèes de Paris situèes sur le chemin de Reuilly” was one of the tollhouses of Paris commissioned by the Ferme Génerale in 1784 and designed by Claude-Nicholas Ledoux. Only a few were built until 1787 when the work was stopped. The barriers where badly damaged during the Revolution and today only four of them are still existent. This reconstruction was part of the exam “Architectural Drawing and Graphic Analysis” of University of Bologna. It consists of analysis and critical reading of original Ledoux drawing about the case of study, definition of the semantic structure and production of the 3D Digital model to represent the reconstructive hypothesis of the case of study. The model is created using mathematical representation (NURBS) while rendered images were created using polygonal modeling (mesh). Rendered images were also post-edited for the presentation.
