Model Description
The old synagogue of Dresden (which was formerly called the Dresden Synagogue or Semper Synagogue) was consecrated in 1840 and was located above the Elbe River near the so-called Gondelhafen on the edge of the city center. It was designed by Gottfried Semper and was in a neo-Romanesque architectural style. During the November protests in 1938, the synagogue was destroyed by the Nazis.
